10 months of waiting

when we started this journey we were not expecting a 10 month wait to receive our referral.  we were officially put on the waiting list on october 25, 2010, and we thought it would maybe take 6 months.

but here we are...over 10 months later...still waiting to see that precious face that God is going to bring into our family.  some days I am pretty good at waiting.  but there are other days when it is just hard.  it's hard not to wonder when...and who...and why not now?!

so.  to make the 10 month marker of our waiting journey into something fun...I thought I'd give away one of our shirts.  yes...we still have some!  you can see pictures of them at the top right of the blog.

I don't even know if anyone out there in blog land would like one...but if you do...just leave me a comment.  I'll draw 2 winners on friday.

giveaway! oh yessss!

Hang in there!! I know it's hard while in limbo---and Sara is right..it does all melt away. A book that helped me tremendously in my wait was 1,000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp

and YES on the shirts!! love them!

I'd love a shirt!! We are just beginning our adoption journey, haven't even completed home study yet and were told that a 12 month wait was optimistic at best... so we are in for a long wait too!

Praying for your wait to come to an end soon! I'm sure it is so much harder when you thought it would be shorter..

Jason Laffan shared your blog with me when I noticed his shirt on a CpC build in March. I've been following you ever since and have been blessed by the honesty of your struggles and the joy and delight you take in your adorable girls!
I'll be praying for renewed patience for you and your referral to come very soon!

Your shirts are very awesome and I would be blessed to wear one!

abby I'm so glad I found your blog through erin's! God has put adoption on my heart in a big way and it's so encouraging to see others being obedient to the call, even when it is long and painful at times.

love the shirts too and so neat to see ways to not only fundraise but to bring glory to God through the process!

Hey Abby! Know that we've been keeping your family in our prayers. His grace is sufficient.

God is preparing you. I am trusting with you that he will finish his work in your family and complete it! You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have something on my desk that reminds me daily that "waiting and praying go together."
